The 6 Benefits of IPL Hair Removal

Lexi Boddy • May 28, 2021

Is IPL Hair Removal right for me?

So perhaps you've been considering IPL hair removal recently? Well here the main benefits to help you decide if the treatment is right for you!

Pop into the salon or give us a wee call if you'd like to chat through any concerns of have any questions at all.

  1. IPL Hair Removal is quick and easy, with no down time! Your IPL treatments take about as long as a waxing treatment.
  2. IPL Hair Removal is great value for money. If you calculated all of the savings you’d make over a lifetime of waxing, shaving or other hair removal techniques, your IPL investment goes a long way!
  3. IPL Hair Removal permanently reduces your hair regrowth. It’s advised to keep up with a maintenance treatment about once a year to keep a great result.
  4. IPL Hair Removal can permanently prevent ingrown hairs. The IPL prevents hair growth at the follicle so you won’t need to worry about ingrown hairs again!
  5. IPL Hair Removal saves you time and hassle in the long run, no last-minute shaving before heading to the beach!
  6. IPL Hair Removal (unlike other machines eg. Laser)  can treat light, grey, white and blonde hairs due it’s broad spectrum technology.

Waxing and shaving can be a hassle and really time consuming depending on the thickness of your hair. While waxing is a great short-term solution for your hair removal, the effects only last a few days and your skin may only feel silky smooth for a day or two. Neither of these techniques are your answer for long term hair removal.

Improvements in long-term, permanent hair reduction technologies have allowed us to provide you with a legitimate long-term hair reduction solution - IPL, Intense Pulsed Light treatments and we’re currently offering
25% off with our Winter Specials available from June to September to help you kick start the process while saving money!

Why LED face mask sessions are your new hero treatment and something you should be doing at home. A prefessional-grade facial at home and total skin rejuvenation in just 10 minutes a day; why this at-home LED face mask should be added to your PM routine and why LED light therapy was the fastest growning trend in 2020 and 2021! Research has proven that LED masks and devices can effectively treat a whole heap of skin concerns, but the results are cumulative, meaning you need to maintain a regular long-term routine and won't see results from a single session with us at the salon. Kind of like working out, you won't see results from one gym session a month! Read on to find out why our therapists believe that investing in your at-home skincare is the game-changer of 2021.

So, why is Winter perfect for your IPL treatments? It’s important to avoid as much sun exposure as possible, so Winter is the best time to get your IPL sessions started as ideally your skin needs to be free of any tan. Our Anthelia IPL machine is able to work on darker skin tones and lighter hair colours, but the treatment is most effective when the skin is at its fairest - in Winter! It’s strongly suggested that the treatment area stay out of the sun afterwards as well, so the perk of winter is that we have none! IPL works by using high-intensity pulses of visible light to improve the appearance of the skin, treat specific skin concerns and remove hair. It targets the lower layers of skin (dermis) without affecting the top layers of skin (epidermis). This provides a non-invasive treatment that is the perfect choice for treating all forms of sun damage, pigmentation, broken capillaries, ageing skin concerns and, of course, for your hair removal needs. IPL targets the colour/melanin in the skin, so it just makes it easier for the light to target the hair follicles if the surrounding skin colour is easily distinguishable from the hair. No tan = better results. For the average client, we expect to see results between 6-8 sessions on IPL which is followed by maintenance sessions every 6 - 12 months or so. It’s always best to get started in the Winter, so book in for your consultation now and take advantage of our 25% discount on bundles of 4 treatments.
