IPL Hair Removal
IPL HAIR REMOVAL
IPL is an abbrieviation for Intense Pulsed Light and is effective for both skin rejuvenation and permanent hair reduction by safely penetrating the skin with pulses of non-invasive light.
In the case of hair reduction, the temperature of the hair follicle is increased by this pulse of light, destroying them without damage to the skin.
Consultations are compulsory for IPL treatments. Includes test patch, quote and treatment plan.

HOW DOES IPL WORK?
The IPL headpiece emits a heated light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair which, when heated to the right degree, cauterizes the blood supply to that hair follicle, stopping future hair growth.
Effective hair removal requires the follicle to have an active blood supply. As you progress through the treatments, the follicle size and structure changes, requiring adjustments to be made to the machine in order to target the finer regrowth.
The hair is eliminated in 4 to 8 treatments on average, according to your hair growth and the area being treated. Hormonal conditions or external factors causing hair growth may not be treated as effectively and we might ask for a medical certificate from your doctor before going ahead with treatments.

DOES IPL HURT?
IPL can be a little painful in sensitive areas - it creates a short, sharp heat sensation as the light penetrates into the hair follicle.
Our Anthelia IPL machine comes with a specially designed ‘Rafale’ hand-piece which is roughly 75% less painful than the regular hand-piece. A safer, less painful method for dark hair removal in sensitive areas.
